Tanks suitable for storing drinking water

Table of contents

Water is one of those raw materials without which no one can survive, especially if we are talking about drinking water. Therefore, the methods of obtaining it, as well as storing it, should always guarantee that it is clean and drinkable. Every effort should therefore be made to ensure that stocks of drinkable water are stored in safe conditions. To this end, it is worth using tanks designed for this purpose - what are their characteristics?

Water in metal storage tanks

Metal containers are rarely used to store drinking water. Most people realize that contact between moisture and metal usually results in corrosion. Of course, if the tank is made of non-corrosive metal, the matter is quite different. This type of product (stainless steel tanks) is used for liquids with variable temperature or pressure, such as in heating systems. In other cases, the use of this type of tank would be uneconomical, since those made of metal are simply expensive.

Plastic fantastic?

A much better idea will be to bet on containers made of plastic, however, they must meet strict technical standards and be certified by the PZH (Polish Institute of Hygiene). Absolutely do not choose containers made of plastic that does not meet these criteria. So, in order to construct any installation, which is a buffer for drinking water, you need to find a manufacturer that guarantees 100% safety for the stored raw material. Our drinking water tanks are manufactured from high-density polyethylene. This makes them resistant to mechanical damage. Moreover, polyethylene is completely chemically inert for liquids stored in tanks made of it. They also do not contain a dangerous compound that is present in many, other types of plastics - BPA. Why is it so dangerous?

Bisphenol-free? No problem!

The substance in question belongs to a group of organic compounds called phenols. Many scientific studies suggest that it has a huge impact on human hormones - negative, of course. BPA, or bisphenol A, most likely can also have a carcinogenic effect, although these are still not fully confirmed assumptions. Everything, unfortunately, indicates that the human body exposed to this compound does not function properly. Significantly, until recently, BPA could be found in many food packaging - foil packets and pouches, plastic bottles or inside beverage cans. Now, however, such materials are used less and less for packaging, for the sake of keeping consumers safe.

While many people might think that any plastic is dangerous to health, high-density polyethylene is an ideal material suitable for drinking water containers. Therefore, anyone who would like to create a warehouse designed to store it should bet on a plastic tank built from this type of plastic. This is a guarantee of high quality and safety.
